Europlacer nozzles, also known as Europlacer smart nozzles, are pick-and-place tools specially designed for Europlacer SMT placement machines. They work with Tornado and Pulsar placement heads for models including iineo, XPii, Atom ii‑A series. Europlacer nozzles are designed to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and protect sensitive components in surface mount technology (SMT) assembly.
Each nozzle has a unique identity code encoded into it, ensuring the correct nozzle is used and reducing errors from misplacement in tool banks.
Custom nozzles can be designed for odd-shaped or specific component types.
Smart nozzles are available for a wide range of component sizes and types, including:
0402, 0603, 0805 capacitors and resistors
0201 ceramic components (with non-oriented or oriented tips)
SOT23, SOT143, SOT89, SOIC8–SOIC20, PLCC18–PLCC84, QFP40, TSOP

Key Features
1. Smart-ID Recognition
Each nozzle has a built-in unique identification chip. The machine automatically reads nozzle type. No fixed slot assignment is required; nozzles can be placed randomly in the nozzle magazine to avoid human error.
2. High Flexibility
Supported by a robust vacuum system, a small set of standard smart nozzles covers most common SMT components. Every nozzle station can theoretically mount all component types, making load balancing easier without reserving specific slots for certain parts.
3. Nozzle Types
- Standard Smart Vacuum Nozzles: For 01005 tiny chips, resistors, capacitors and medium-sized ICs. Pick components by vacuum pressure.
- Gripper Nozzles: Mechanical clamping instead of vacuum. Used for odd-form parts, connectors, through-hole components and parts hard to pick by vacuum. Jaw opening is adjustable.
- Custom Special Nozzles: Made to order for non-standard odd-shaped components.
